This page will be for our own gear and is not intended as a "guide to all pickleball gear". If someone is curious about our personal gear, this page will explain what we use.
LOGO
So...how did we wind up with this logo on a shirt and a hat? We simply Googled "pickleball logo" and scrolled through many, many logos until we found this one. We have no idea who designed it or where it came from. It was included in a blog pot by a spectator who went to the August 2016 Surf City Pickleball Tournament in Huntington Beach, California. The context in which we found the logo is shown in the screen clip below. Here is the blog in which the logo was used:

Here is an article on the tournament:

We searched and searched trying to find a Copyright notice but found none. So we decided to assume the logo was in the public domain. We sent a digital copy of the logo to the Classy Threads shop in Idaho Falls. For $15 they converted the digital copy into correct coding for their embroidery machine. Then they stitched a one-off version onto my shirt and also onto Susun's hat. Each one-off copy was $7.50. Classy Threads has the design on file and will work with us by mail to add the logo to additional apparel items.
NET
We purchased the "3.0 Tournament Net System" from Pickleball Central. It arrived on November 30, 2016. From our limited experience playing pickleball in Idaho Falls, the "3.0 Tournament Net System" was the easiest to set up and take down and store. The net normally sells for $169 but was on sale for $118 (Plus $5 shipping).
The above graphic shows one of the positive features for this net. It has a 36-inch wide base but makes minimal contact with the floor, hence reducing the scratching potential.
Above is a screen clip from Pickleball Central's website. Here is the address for the net:

SHOES
Shoes sure don't get much attention when people are talking pickleball gear. But proper footwear can make a big difference. If your shoes don't fit right, you're going to get fatigued much faster and you might even wind up with sore feet and ankles after only an hour or two of playing time. John keeps two pairs of shoes strctly for pickleball--one pair for indoor courts and another pair for outdoor court.
John has been buying his footwear at Big 5 Sporting goods for many, many years--longer than he can remember. The price is always fair and the shoes last a long time for the money. Currently, John's choice of an indoor shoe is LA Gear's Circuit Men's Training Shoes. As of December 3, 2016, the shoes were on sale for $22. Chances are pretty good that John will be buying numerous different shoes with which to play pickleball. For the time being these shoes fit well and don't produce foot fatigue or ankle stress.
